5. Final thoughts

Nutritional ‘science’ is a house of sand.

Forget about nutrients, ignore the fads and the latest food bloggers or books and focus on food. Remember: ‘Eat, don’t tweet’.

If you can, keep away from processed foods, as much as possible, and you will avoid: BSE, contaminated eggs; high amounts of fat, sugar, and salt; horse meat; mechanically recovered ‘meat’; chemical flavour enhancers and colourings.

My advice is to eat three meals a day, preferably cooked from scratch, with plenty of vegetables and to avoid snacking.
