Everyone seems to be interested in nutrition; but how do you sort out the truth from the myths, hype and marketing?
I have over 20 years experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students about nutrition. I have a first class degree and PhD in Human Nutrition; I’ve: supervised 100’s of dissertations; examined and supervised PhD’s; acted as an external examiner for many Universities; have validated Nutrition degrees and published scientific papers.
There is so much information and misinformation floating around about nutrition and many vested interests, pushing a particular line. It’s no wonder the general public are confused and don’t know which voice or option to listen to; particularly as even the scientists (who ought to know) don’t seem to agree.
This blog – ‘No Nonsense Nutrition’ is the real deal. I have no agenda and nothing to sell.
So listen up; it’s my aim to try to demystify nutrition; to get at the truth (so far as it exists) behind the media, marketing and hype. I’ll post interesting articles, news items, scientific studies and opinions about diet and nutrition; then try to explain, in layman’s terms, the evidence behind them; and extract key ‘truths’ and/or ‘distortions’. I’ll also happily answer any questions about diet and nutrition in a simple, science based, way.
